Welcome to Grade 3
Welcome
Back. I hope you all had a wonderful summer. The weather was
certainly beautiful. The weather is still summerlike but it is
time to begin the school year. I am very excited about this
year. We have a great class coming in and I hope that they are
as ready as I am to jump right in. We have many interesting
topics in each subject to learn.
Reading should be
fun this year. There are so many new stories and strategies to
know for learning new words.
In Writing, we will be working on similes
and descriptive paragraphs.
In Math, we are going to start with place and
value, comparing numbers, ordering numbers, counting money,
making change and word problems
We love math!
In Social
Studies, we will be talking about different types of communities
and we will be making a “Community Quilt” bulletin board to tell
the story of Southington.
In
Science, we are learning about plants and how they grow.
I am
looking forward to a great year with a classroom full of
children ready and willing to learn.
